IUCr 2011

Visit www.natx-ray.com for more info. This is a company which produces robots for structural biology; their aim being to automise the process as much as possible. They attended last year’s IUCr meeting in madrid, which is where I filmed their robot to edit a short presentation clip for their website.

These are photos of the entire hall, and some photos of a small town in France in which we stopped on the way back.

Demeter is yet again upon us

In Greek mythology, Hades kidnapped Persephone to be his wife. Zeus ordered Hades to return her to Demeter, the godess of the Earth and her mother. However, Hades tricked Persephone into eating the food of the dead, so Zeus decreted that Persephone would spend six months with Demeter and six months with Hades. During the time her daughter is with Hades, Demeter becomes depressed and causes winter.

– Fom Wikipedia, somehow looking up the greek origin of Winter interested me.

Somehow, somewhere, somewhat

Because sometimes, life sucks. And sometimes, life is really cool. Pessimistic and dramatic, possibly, but somehow, saying “Life sucks” actually makes it all a lot easier to live. I know. It’s weird.
